Interested in Test Driving a Real Tattoo?

People get Temporary Airbrush Tattoos (TATs) for several reasons. Most often the reason is just to have fun. But more and more people want to ‘try on a tattoo’ before getting a permanent tattoo. When one can’t decide what color is wanted Airbrush Tattoos give them a great opportunity to try a variety of colors with no pain or regrets. Airbrush Gypsy often gets requests for the same design in different colors. As you can see in the following religious tattoo one can achieve a different feel or mood just by using a variety of colors. Just like with real tattoos each airbrush tattoo is a custom one of a kind TAT.

The traditional black Jesus is a popular request as many remark how much it looks like a real tattoo.

Interesting results can be had with the same basic three colors, blue, white, and black as shown.
.
.
In the  first picture, white was used for the halo, blue was then evenly applied to the rest of the Jesus silhouette.
.
.
.
The next tattoo had white applied in a circular motion around the design with black on his face just to the edge of the Crown of Thorns. Then a light layer of blue around the edge of the crown and around the  tips of the designs. Adding just a hint of black at the points makes a dark blue.
.
.
.
White was applied first over the entire last blue religious airbrush design. The top of the stencil was very slightly moved to the left just enough to give a hint of white on the edge of the halo. Then blue was added in a circular motion covering the edges with black on the Jesus silhouette.

This temporary tattoo simply uses black and red. Where the colors are blended, a burgundy can be seen. This picture also shows that even a decent sized design can be beautifully applied to the neck.
.
.
.
Although the picture isn’t the best of this unique tat, it has enough detail to show another option. Again white was applied to the entire Jesus design. The stencil once again was also moved although slightly different than last time to leave white edging here and there. Do you see it at the edge of the Crown of Thorns? Red was then applied unevenly to the halo allowing an unusual red, pink and burgundy variation. Lastly, black evenly covered the face giving the owner a rare tat.
.
.
.
A custom temporary airbrush tattoo was made by piecing together two different designs. The chain of the necklace is from an arm wrap. Black was applied to Jesus with a yellow halo. Note… if white had been used before the yellow the yellow would have been a much brighter yellow rather than the golden yellow that is shown. Red and black were used for the ‘chain’.

Granted the tones, hues and application of real tattoos are different. However, temporary airbrush tattoos do give many color options making it so more and more people are seeking local airbrush tattists to 'test drive' a tattoo first.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been booking alot of airbrush tattoo events. Grad nights, corporate parties, fundraisers, school events, bar&bat mitzvahs, birthday parties and more. One of the common questions, and understandably important is the cost for our services. People are shopping around, doing price comparisons and we understand this because we do it ourself.

When you hire a vendor to come into your home, school or business, you are trusting they will come early and get setup, they will have everything they need to provide their service, they will look and be professional, they will be fun and engaging with your friends, family and co-workers. You have a vision in your head of how much fun your guests are going to have and ultimately, you are putting alot of trust in the vendor to come through and make that happen.

In an honest effort to help everyone, whether they hire us today or not, I ask them to research the other airbrush tattoo companies in this area before hiring them. I have had many people tell me that they think all airbrush tattoo businesses are the same, that there is little to no difference from one and the other when in truth there can be and often are glaring differences.

Some of the questions I recommend you ask when looking to hire an airbrush tattoo business are:

1. Can they provide references? Be sure the references they provide are from actual people who have hired them and not friends or family members. I tell every person I talk with go to my http://www.flickr.com/photos/cnet2/sets/, choose any party and I will guarantee the person who hired us will give us a great reference.

2. How many stencil designs do they have? We have approximately 550 stencils to choose from and they appeal to everyone.

3. How many tattoo ink colors do they have? We have 7 primary colors and the ability to blend pink, purple and gray.

4. Are there hidden costs? Be sure the price you are quoted is all-inclusive.

Some other things to look for are:

Does this company have a website? If not, they are probably weekend festival people.
Is the website updated regularly?
How long have they been in business?
Who are their clients?
How many airbrush artists can they provide?
Do they arrive early to setup?

Hopefully some of this information will help you make the right choice when hiring an airbrush tattoo artist for your next event.

Pool Party Planning

Ahhh the summer pool party...the staple to summer fun! There are many things to keep in mind when throwing a pool party! You will want to have everything possible to make the best time for you and your friends and family. Just follow these simple ideas to create the best pool party imaginable!
  1. Do you have a pool? Obviously if you are planning a pool party, you have a pool. The important thing, however, is to keep the size of your pool in mind before creating your guest list. Every pool has a maximum capacity, so keeping that in mind is important. Of course not everyone will be in the pool at the same time, so taking into consideration the size of your yard is important as well.
  2. Pre Party Pool Care - When throwing a pool party you will want to have your pool sparkling clean when your guests arrive. To do so, it will be necessary to keep a tight cleaning schedule for your pool in the weeks prior to the party. Regular vacuuming, skimming, and treating will prevent any build up and discoloration of the water before your party. Not only will this make the pool look impressive, it will also make it more appealing to the guests to swim in. If you are new to owning a pool, consult an expert at your pool supplies store and they will provide you with all of the proper items to keep your pool sparkling clean!
  3. Pool Toys - Pool toys could be one of the most important items at your pool party! Chances are if you have had a pool for sometime, you will have a good collection of toys. But at a pool party, it is important to have a variety of toys. Have some that appeal to the adults and some to the children. Consider smaller items like Squirt guns and diving items, such as rings, sticks, and eggs. These toys will keep children busy at all times! Also for the guests of all ages, consider a basketball hoop or volleyball net for the water. This will please adults and children alike!things to do at a pool party

Flotation devices are always a must, especially for adults. There are a wide array of floating rafts. You can find inflatable rafts for as little as $3-5, but those do not always hold steady - they really end up being fun for the kids. There are more durable inflatables that may run you more in the $20-30 range, but they will be relaxing for the adults at the party. Also consider kick boards for the kids. They will have a blast flying around splashing behind one of them!

Never forget to buy swimming noodles. These are the long foamish looking flotation devices! They can be used for a variety of activities and games! They are fun for all ages and can be found for only a few dollars at most stores!

Having a few pairs of goggles and flippers is always fun for the kids as well....
